Heritage Ottawa has once again reinforced its opposition to plans to move the Horticulture Building as presented in the Stage 1 Site Plan for Lansdowne Park: read Moving the Horticulture Building Could Destroy It. Heritage Ottawa will take up the matter with the Ontario Minister of Tourism and Culture to place a stop-work order on the project. Under provincial legislation, the minister has the authority to stop work on a culturally significant building if alteration or removal is likely to damage it.

OBHAC, the city's advisory committee on built heritage will consider the issue on November 4th and then it will be considered by committee of the whole on November 19th and a vote in council on November 24th.
