Submission to the City of Ottawa on the Zoning of Lansdowne Park (Lansdowne Partnership Plan)

Introduction
My name is Roland Dorsay. I am a resident of Island Park Drive and here today on behalf of the Friends of Lansdowne.
The Friends of Lansdowne is a non-profit, citywide citizen’s coalition committed to the revitalization of Lansdowne Park. We want Lansdowne to be a sustainable, accessible, public space for the benefit of all Ottawans and believe redevelopment needs to be carried out in a way that is fair, open, transparent and fiscally responsible.
We oppose the establishment of a new L2C subzone for Lansdowne Park through this zoning application. We believe that such a major change of land use requires an amendment to the official plan. We further believe that the City has failed to adequately notify and consult the public about the proposed land use changes. We therefore urge the committee to consult the public on these proposed changes and then follow the proper process of an amendment to the official plan.
